America Stand United by Paul Arow

I pledge my allegiance to the United States of America, standing brave and proud holding my hand firm across my heart. I proudly hang my country flag outside my front door. To a nation I will kneel. I respect the founding American principles and honor those brave souls who gave the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom. I respect the loss and respect the grave. I will love my neighbors as brothers and sisters and treat the poor and helpless with dignity. I pledge to uphold all great American leaders of the past and future. I will not let ignorance and bad judgment lead me down the wrong path. I support my government and accept the consensus of the America people. I will work with the system to make positive changes. I will not plunder or destroy other people’s property. I will not harm or steal from anyone. I will give back to the community. I will always foster integrity in my heart. The earth is a precious soul. I will love my land and will be a good steward of the earth and remember that I leave a legacy to those who follow me when I am gone. I will do whatever I can to make the world safe and whole again. I will fight for what America stands. I believe and trust in God.

America is a melting pot composed of diverse people from all over. Many clans live here. America was built on cold hard steel. We must not take for granted the farmers and truckers. Without them we would not have food on the table or goods delivered to our door. Whether young or old, black, or white, whether Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, or Jewish, no matter what party you follow America must stand together. Let us practice diversity and equality. There will always be good times and bad times. Let every experience be a learning opportunity and let every experience build strength and character. Our country is great, and we should not take for granted all the blessings we have. Our founding forefathers went to great lengths to set in place a free republic nation. The rest of the world sees us as the land of opportunity because America does not limit anyone in anyway. We have the power as Americans to succeed and prosper free from government control. Our government cannot take that away from us. Live your American dream!

The Story Behind “Ridin’ The Range”

“Ridin’ The Range” is song about the American cowboy. The song also reminds us that we live and share our range together and to respect each one the same. There are various images and meanings throughout the song. These are based on the history of the cowboy and includes such things as cowboy way of life, how they drove cattle across the range, life on the trail, team diversification, attire, and music.
Cowboys signed up for cattle drives shortly after the civil war to aid with the increased demand for beef. Cowboys were a loyal hard-working diverse team with a mixture of race and color comprising African Americans, Native Americans, Mexicans, and eastern settlers. They drove cattle across the western United States from Texas to Kansas where the cattle were loaded on trains at railroad depots. The days were very long, and they only traveled 25 miles a day. They made $25 dollars a month. Along the trail the cowboys would stop at local towns. The ladies they met were referred to as sparrows. Cowboys carried a dreambook, which is small packet of papers used to roll cigarettes. An eagle refers to a ten-dollar gold coin.
Cowboys worked in teams and wore large brimmed hats for sun protection. Chaps covered their legs to protect from cactus and rocky terrain. They wore special pointed boots that were designed to fit in the stirrups of the saddle and carried six shooters on their side for protection. Each cowboy took along several horses on the trail so they could swap out a tired or overworked horse. They sang songs and played guitar and harmonica for entertainment and to soothe the cattle.
Cowboys had a code of ethics and knew love and pain, and never cared about fame. The code included such things as courtesy, always saying howdy, do not wave at a man on a horse but instead nod, help those in need, never wear another man’s hat, never ride another man’s horse with asking permission.
Vaqueros were rough, hard-working, skilled Mexican cowboys hired to help drive the cattle. Vaquero is a translation of cow (vaca). Segundo means second and they were the most experienced cowboy riding next to the trail boss. Waddies were free rangers and drifters and helped out in busy times. Nighthawks were cowboys who rode around and watched the herd at night. They drew lots for who would stay on night watch.

Someday We’ll All Meet In Heaven by Paul Arow

I was brought up with strong beliefs that there is more for us than just life here on earth. Our spirits live forever. I have a beautiful granddaughter who asked me what will happen when you die papa. She looked at old photographs and expressed she misses family she never had a chance to meet. I responded you’ll have to wait to get to heaven to be together again. I remember asking a similar question of my grandfather and he said he would watch down from above. So, to convey my feelings and emotions about eternal life, I decided to write a song about heaven.
Everyone can relate to the loss of a loved one. When this sorrowful event happens, we have fond memories and feelings about someone who left us that never really heal. We hold hope and faith deep in our hearts, which keeps us going on.
I believe there’s a wonderful day when we’ll meet our lost love ones. We may also be surprised to see people we didn’t except to see! Well this song conveys a message of hope of an eternal life to come, a place where your friends and family have gone before, where we will live forever in the glory, peace, and love of God. I truly wish for this song to be a blessing to you.
